On arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be picked by the representative from Weismann Safaris & Expeditions-Uganda and drop you to Protea hotel for any meal plan depending on the time you arrived at the hotel. This is the closed hotel from the airport which is 2.6kms that takes on 4minutes drive.Make the program for the next day with your tour driver/guide. Enjoy your stay at the hotel for an overnight
After early morning breakfast, you will drive from Entebbe and proceed to the western part of the country through the Mityana- Fortportal- Kamwenge road to Chmpundu lodge for an overnight. The journey will lead you through the rural towns of the country in the western part with traditional way of settlements. After 328km, you will stop in Fortportal town for lunch and then continue to Kibale forest for your dinner and accommodation at Chimpundu Lodge. This is a 6-7hours drive that covers a distance of about 322km.
Wake up early, have breakfast, and then move to Kibale forest national park at Kanyanchu starting point for a briefing on the code of behavior around the Chimpanzees. Enter the forest to follow the Chimpanzees for 2-4 hours, taking various photographs to preserve for memories. During chimpanzee, you will be able to encounter a variety of other primate species like th Lh’hoest monkeys, red tailed monkeys, baboons and others. In addition, birds species shall also be spotted during the chimpanzee tracking experience. After the chimpanzee tracking, get your tracking certificates and drive back to the Chimpundu Lodge.
After taking morning breakfast, we proceed to Bwindi forest for an overnight at either Muhogany lodge or Silverback lodge to prepare for gorilla tracking the next day. This journey takes you through the Kasese-Mbarara road bisecting Queen Elizabeth national park crossing the famous Kazinga channel the natural channel that connects the two lakes Lake George and Lake Edward 40kms apart. This journey is more of a game drive where you pass through Queen Elizabeth national park that gives you chance to see different animal species like Elephants, Buffalo, warthogs, hippos, antelopes among others. This is 237kms journey that takes 5-6hours drive on marrum road.
After early morning breakfast, proceed to the Park gate for briefing on the rules of behavior in the presence of Mountain Gorillas in their native forest environment.
After a simple briefing, you are divided into groups to different gorilla families then start walk into the jungle to track the Mountain Gorillas for either long hours or short hours depending on how far they are in the jungle. When you encounter them, you are only permitted 1hour in their presence to take various photographs to preserve as memories.
Return to the starting point, be awarded the tracking certificates and then drive back to your lodge for lunch and then an overnight.
After early morning breakfast, we then drive you for 2 hours to Kihihi airfield for your flight to Entebbe and then fly back to your home.
